We carry on the tradition of stone grinding for making matcha. The vivid, deep green is a hallmark of stone-ground matcha. Matcha is freshly ground for each order and has a distinctive mild flavor and richness. We deliver our products in a state of maximum freshness. The fertilization of the tea plantations is carefully managed with as little use of chemical fertilizers as possible, and quality is assured through painstaking temperature and humidity control to produce a pure, wholesome, safe tea. Manufacture After we purchased tea leaves from tea market, we brush up its quality in quality controlled tea factory. In order to keep the freshness of tea, we ground in a stone mill in case of matcha. We sort tea leaves into each part, then burn, dry, and blend in case of Sencha and Gyokuro. By mixing up variety of different tea leaves in a balanced manner, the mildness increase, same vivid color, delicious taste and aromatic flavor could keep for a whole year. Product development We do not limit our thinking that “tea is for drink” and still trying to find the way to utilize the characteristic of tea. For instance, we produce sweets, soba (buckwheat noodles), curry, and other various kinds of products that incorporate Uji tea. In addition, we carefully consider about sanitary control, package design and price to produce perfect products which represent beautiful seasons of Uji.
